Richard Bloom spent summers in high school and college working at Camp Playland of New Canaan where he spent several seasons as director of the Camp’s aquatic program.
After earning his degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, Richard worked for 25 years as a Certified Public Accountant. Richard returned to camping in 1996 as the owner and director of Camp Playland of Redding.
Barbara Bloom began her career as a high school teacher in Cincinnati, Ohio. After moving east Barbara worked in sales for several years before returning to education as a paraprofessional in the Redding school system.
Barbara worked summers at Camp Playland of New Canaan where she held positions as a group counselor, a head counselor for the upper camp and a head counselor for the nursery camp.
Together, Richard and Barbara continue the Bloom family tradition.
